Street Fighter 2: Turbo
Street Fighter II Turbo took the cover, with Jurassic Park, Alien 3, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Goof Troop and Star Trek: The Next Generation inside. A special feature called The Name of the Game ran alongside the Star Fox comic. Player's Pulse printed a truck driver's story of nearly running over his Game Boy.

A replica of the Alien and Ripley's cryotube prop from Alien 3, plus the movie on VHS and the game. The card asked what readers thought of the Super Mario Bros. movie and posed the trivia test: if Ryu throws a fireball every two seconds, how many does he throw in a 90-second fight?

Nester carried on alone after Howard left Nintendo in 1991, walking into one game a month and finding out the hard way that reading the strategy pages would have helped.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Washed up on Koholint's beach, Nester finds the owl expecting Master Link, hero of Hyrule, and offers himself instead: let us go to Tail's Cave and begin the quest. He charges the skeletons and bats — 'you had a cover last month, let me at 'em' — while the owl dispenses wisdom about he who stands in the door to fight, and is asked to move its tail. He who sits on another's head is asking for a sword sandwich.
Star Fox

Benimaru Itoh's serial ran alongside the game, with the Arwing pilots as the magazine drew them: Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy against Andross, with a subplot the game never had.
Chapter seven. Out of fuel and under attack by stingrays that used to be pussycats, the team works out that the creatures are being controlled through their antennae — laser the antennae, not the body — which means someone is sending the signal, and that someone has just had Slippy kidnapped by the Emperor's guard. Andross survived, and tells his captive his story: foster parents who were upstanding android pigs, killed by a Cornerian; the academy; exile to a planet of dull lizards and the ruins of an older civilisation. Then a whale-shaped transdimensional starship arrives from the far side of the black hole, carrying fuel and a crew member who wishes to speak with Fox.
