This issue featured an interview with Macaulay Culkin — American actor and musician (born 1980).
Eleven years old and the star of Home Alone, the biggest film of 1990, interviewed at Disneyland while opening a video-game arcade there with Mickey Mouse and beaten on stage by a Nintendo World Championships finalist. He had been playing since he was three, was allowed two hours a day, and on set the director had used Nintendo as the reward for learning his lines, which he did in about fifteen minutes. My Girl, Home Alone 2 and Richie Rich followed, then he quit acting at fourteen. He has drifted back on his own terms since, fronting the Velvet Underground pizza-parody band The Pizza Underground, appearing in American Horror Story, and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.
Mack could play Nintendo games if he'd memorized his lines. He'd go through the entire script in about 15 minutes.

Nester's Adventures · Volume 27Nester's Adventures
2-page strip · from p. 20
Nester carried on alone after Howard left Nintendo in 1991, walking into one game a month and finding out the hard way that reading the strategy pages would have helped.
Nester's mom has lost her car keys again, and he searches the way Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves taught him: look in the least obvious places, since power-up apples hide in dark shadows and items turn up behind columns and under rugs. That means inside the roast chicken and the dog's mouth before he finds them in the car door, where nobody would have thought to look. His reward is being reminded of the chores list — lawn, garbage, fence — while his friend has painted the fence in his absence.
