This issue featured an interview with Ivan "Ironman" Stewart — American racing driver (born 1945).
A profile in three parts, because the NES was suddenly full of racers with their names on the box. Ivan Stewart was off-road racing's Ironman, a nickname earned winning punishing Baja races solo, and the name on the arcade hit Super Off Road; he visited arcades to check the machines were there and raced his son for lap times. The page also found room for Bill Elliott, then consulting with Konami on a NASCAR game, and Al Unser Jr., whose Turbo Racing had just come out from Data East. Stewart went on to win the Baja 1000 outright and a record haul of stadium truck championships with Toyota before retiring from the seat; his name is still the one on the cabinet.
Super Off Road captures the feeling of off-road racing. The trucks slide, jump and bang into each other just like in a real race.

Howard Phillips, Nintendo of America's bow-tied Game Master, and Nester, the know-it-all kid who never took his advice. Two pages an issue from the first volume on, with a different game's world to get lost in each month.
Howard and Nester are hiking through the boulder-strewn cliffs of Super C when they run into the game's two commandos, worn out by robotic guns, jet-pack aliens and now the rocks. Nester promises to show them how it's done and is promptly carried off a cliff by a boulder, yelling for help. Howard, prepared for everything, explains the timing — jump straight up just right of where the boulder lands and it misses every time — after checking the wind, the straps and a double knot on the shoelaces; the commandos thank Howard, and Nester gets the fleas from the thrift-shop blanket.
